Oil or Hydrocarbons in Water Analysis

Utilizing the ALPHA spectrometer system paired with a specialized flow-through cell enables swift and precise evaluation of hydrocarbon levels in the water. Thanks to a sturdy instrument design, straightforward sample prep, and an intuitive measurement process, even those without prior training can conduct the analysis. The entire assessment is completed in under 10 minutes, making it a fitting method for monitoring large batches of samples.

The analysis of extractable (EL) and non-polar extractable (NEL) is a standard practice to determine waterborne hydrocarbon concentrations. This analysis adheres to standards such as ČSN 75 7506, ASTM D7575, and more.

Within our range, we present the turnkey FTIR spectrometer, ALPHA II, tailored specifically for tests in line with these standards. It’s equipped with both 1cm and 5cm liquid cuvettes and features an integrated function to effortlessly compute the levels of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons in water.

Additionally, we provide an alternative method involving chloroform extraction and the determination of hydrocarbons using a 100 µm liquid cuvette, for which there’s an available calibration curve spanning 0-140 ppm.

We also showcase cutting-edge analysis methods that eliminate the need for extraction solvents and other chemicals, all while staying compliant with standard protocols (like ASTM D7575). Minimal sample preparation and sheer simplicity! Your task is merely to filter the water sample and subsequently examine the filters in transmission mode.
